If you will note the minimap above, with the stronghold in the SW, my sub was in the raised area N of the stronghold. I figured that this was just because there was no tech, and a fairly distant sub. Just for shits and giggles I then shift-clicked about where the stronghold was, and watched as every bot on my team flocked to the stronghold. As soon as a bot has mined 25 or 50 units of stone and returned it to the outpost, it will totally stop. The sub was built pretty quickly, and I ordered my underlings to start mining. So I ordered them to go off and build a sub somewhere while I started producing tech. I was pleasantly surprised to see them spawn, but they sat there not doing much, until I ordered them around. So I loaded up a map which I halted progress on till recently ( ) and went as team 2 commander, adding 15 bots to my team and 16 to the other.

I think the hotfix right after the big RC3 update fixed my issue in the OP. Only because I'm in the mood to write something about video games rather than play video games. "Destroy the enemy stronghold/lair" will make your bots go straight to the enemy command centre. "We need more gold" will make them kill NPCs for gold. Setting a squad's mission to "We need more redstone" will make sure that that squad will continue to mine stone. You may notice that bots will mine once then return to garrison, but not mine again. Using the squad panel will be very helpful here, though. They will move, attack, build, repair, mine etc well. However you can hop into commander and order them around pretty easily. Using this command will print the bot's name, unit, gold and health.Īs far as I have found, all of the other commands you'll find in botcmdlist do not work.
